Privacy Notice
Last updated September 2, 2026. This Privacy Notice explains what personal information Chefinnit collects, how we use it, and the choices available while using the live marketplace at chefinnit.com.
Who we are
Chefinnit operates a marketplace connecting customers with independent food sellers. Controllers of account and platform data are reachable at support@chefinnit.com. Sellers may receive customer details needed to fulfill an inquiry or order; each seller is responsible for how they handle information they receive.
Information we collect
We collect account identifiers (including Firebase authentication identifiers), email, display name, handle, profile and chef content you publish, service cities and approximate service areas, order and inquiry details, invoice snapshots, payment references you choose to submit (not full card or bank secrets), messages and attachments, tasting RSVPs, favorites, food preferences or allergy notes you provide, reviews, device and log data, cookie preferences, language preference, and ZIP or location inputs you enter for discovery. Discover ZIP searches may be stored as anonymous market analytics (ZIP code, whether matching succeeded, and how many chefs matched) without linking them to your account. At signup and when consent is recorded, we store policy versions, timestamp, source, validated proxy IP address, user agent, and locale for security and compliance evidence. Those security fields are not shown on public profiles.
Sources
Information comes from you, from sellers interacting with your orders, from optional Google sign-in, from identity or seller-verification partners when you apply as a seller, from email delivery providers, from maps/geocoding services used to interpret ZIP codes for service-area matching, and from optional analytics only after you accept analytics cookies.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, operate discovery and Chef Studio, route inquiries and invoices, send transactional email, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate media, measure product performance, comply with law, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information for money.
Sharing
We share information with the chef or team members involved in your inquiry or order; with processors that host identity, database, email, storage, bot protection, verification, or analytics services under contract; with professional advisors; and when required by law or to protect safety and rights. Public profiles intentionally expose only seller-published marketplace content, not private addresses, consent IPs, or message contents.
Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies and local storage support authentication, security, language, cart drafts, guest ZIP preference, and cookie choice. Optional Google Analytics loads only after you choose Accept analytics. See the Cookie Notice for details.
Retention and security
We retain account, order, consent, and security records for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify them according to our retention schedule. We use access controls, encrypted transport, server-side authorization checks, and least-privilege service credentials. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Your choices and rights
You can update profile settings, manage cookie preferences, opt out of marketing where offered, and request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information by emailing support@chefinnit.com. We may retain limited records required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or completed transactions. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply under state privacy laws or GDPR-like regimes; see also GDPR & Data Rights.
Children
Chefinnit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact support@chefinnit.com if you believe a child provided data so we can delete it.
